Hope in the Hills is a professional counselling service dedicated to supporting and guiding individuals and couples. We specialise in psychologically informed counselling and integrate different approaches to work with our clients' issues including but not limited to: improving mental well-being, relationships, infertility and pregnancy-related grief. Hope in the Hills is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where you can explore your emotions and experiences. We are located physically in the Perth Hills area of Kalamunda and journey alongside you in the metaphorical hills of life.
About
Katherine Callaway
Katherine has a warm integrative approach with her clients and is psychologically and trauma informed. Incorporating a Person-Centred Approach, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, Attachment Theory and other modalities as required to best serve the individual needs of those seeking counselling. Katherine believes in being a lifelong learner and is committed to ongoing education, upholding confidentiality, working with her clients collaboratively and holding an ethical framework. All beliefs and faiths are respected and specific Christian counselling is available to those who seek it. Katherine works to build a genuine rapport with her clients to help them achieve their therapy goals. Katherine helps to find a place where meaning, joy and hope come together.

Experience
Asides from counselling, Katherine has an extensive background with children and families working with developmental milestone, parenting strategies, existential issues and navigating death and grief. Katherine has lived and worked both in Australia and the United States of America, with experience in schools, childcare centres, hospitals and churches over the years. Katherine volunteers and has a heart for her local community having compassion, care and curiosity for all she works with. Katherine has long served the Edith Cowan University Psychological Society (ECUPS) as Secretary then President, and has been the ECU representative for the Australian Psychological Society (APS) student interest group. The focus being on facilitating inter-university collaboration, peer support for psychological and counselling students and to bring much needed training opportunities and professional development outside of degree programs.
